HOW WE DO IT

Here's a revised "How We Do It" paragraph:

"At Grow It Good, we’re on a mission to set up a farming operation in a food-insecure area of Alabama, where we’ll hire local farmers to work with six innovative freight farms. These climate-controlled shipping containers allow us to grow high-quality, fresh produce year-round, from leafy greens to herbs and brassicas. With a generous donor offering an indoor facility, we're now in the fundraising phase to raise $1MM to bring this vision to life. Once established, we’ll sell our produce to restaurants, colleges, hospitals, and other anchor organizations. Our model ensures that with a one-time capital investment, the farm becomes self-sustaining and grows exponentially each year. Most importantly, we plan to donate 100% of our net profits to vetted organizations dedicated to fighting food insecurity across Alabama."

The Raise

We’re in the crucial phase of raising $1 million to bring Grow It Good to life. This funding will allow us to establish a sustainable farming operation in Alabama, where we can grow and sell fresh, high-quality produce. With your support, we’ll create jobs, nourish communities, and donate 100% of our net profits to organizations fighting food insecurity across the state.

The Location

A generous donor has stepped forward, offering us an incredible opportunity by providing as much space as we need to establish and expand our farming operation. This invaluable support will allow us to scale our efforts and create a substantial impact, helping us grow more produce, hire more local farmers, and ultimately make a bigger difference in the fight against food insecurity.

Training

Trainig

The key to becoming a successful Grow It Good Farmer is to go through our farmer training program.

We will send all of our farmers to join us at our partners headquarters for an in-person Farm Camp, where they can meet other new farmers and get hands-on time in our Container Gardens to prepare for their farming journey. Training topics will include the grow cycle, pest and disease management, and farm component identification.

Farm Camp

Farmer Training Program, is designed to provide all the information you’ll need to successfully run your farm over the course of two days at our partner's headquarters. By the time you’ve finished, you’ll have gained confidence in the farm’s systems and farming operations, as well as connected with other soon-to-be Container Farmers! We highly encourage Farm Camp for first-time farmers and entrepreneurs.

Farmhand® Academy

Go through training at your own pace on our partner's online Academy platform. If you can’t make it to their headquarters for Farm Camp or want to train on your own time and schedule, this is a great option for you. Academy is a comprehensive learning tool that prepares you for farming through online courses on our farmhand platform. Offering 10 modules featuring instructional videos, detailed diagrams, and intermittent quizzes to test your knowledge, this comprehensive training option will ensure that you’re confidently ready to operate your farm. Even after training, the courses are always available for you to reference and refresh your knowledge.

On-Going Support

Our main priority is making an impact on Alabamians suffering from food-insecurity

"Our primary mission at Grow It Good is to funnel 100% of our net profits into helping fund and grow vetted food-insecure organizations. As we like to say, ‘Good food should do good,’ and we’re committed to turning our farming efforts into a powerful force for change in communities that need it most. With Alabama being the fifth poorest state in the nation, where 17% of adults and 23% of children face food insecurity—meaning they lack regular access to enough nutritious food for an active, healthy life—our work has never been more urgent or necessary.
